Vernier caliper is a device usually used by engineering students to measure the inside and outside measurements of an object. From this, the researchers came up with the idea of using an engineering tool that can be used as an alternative method in taking shoulder subluxation in the medical field. Shoulder Subluxation happens usually on Stroke patients wherein the muscles become weak due to prolonged immobilization, it is usually measured using Plain Radiograph and a ruler or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) but the researchers find it inconvenient othe stroke patients and they will be exposed to radiation caused by X-Ray (Plain Radiographs), it can be also measured using tape measure, fingerbreaths and the thermoplastic jigs, but it is not acurate, in line with this the researchers modified a vernier caliper to be an alternative radiographs. The main purpose of this study is to prove the validity of the modified vernier caliper in measuring shoulder subluxation among stroke patients. Additionally the researchers seek to verify that the device can be a dependable substitute for X-rays.
